Age 16 years or above
5 passes at '0' Level- Grade C or better, in English Language, Mathematics, a relevant Science subject plus any other 2 subjects
Be in possession of a relavant clearance letter from the department
Have an employer willing to engage person as an apprentice
Be a Zimbabwean citizen
The total training period is generally 4 years with 20% college training and 80% on job training
College training is mandatory and is carried out on full time basis for 1 year. this period is divided into three terms of 13 weeks in order to obtain the theoretical knowledge
Employers provide on the job training through qualified personnel, following a statutory training programme, for apprentices to gain practical skills and consolidate theory from college
